Join us for an insightful morning seminar on the topic of workplace investigations – a subject that is relevant across all industries and organizations. Lawyers from MLT Aikins labour & employment team will help guide HR professionals and managers through the process of managing workplace complaints and investigations.
This half-day seminar will educate attendees on the following:
- Understanding statutory obligations and legal requirements related to workplace complaints
- Recognizing an increase in the frequency of workplace complaints and early warning signs of potential workplace issues
- Reacting when a complaint is received – what constitutes a complaint, employer obligations for non-written complaints and handling “information-only” concerns
- Preparing for an investigation and avoiding common pitfalls
- Understanding the considerations for what should and should not be managed internally
- Crafting investigation reports, understanding confidentiality and setting expectations for external investigators
- Restoring workplace equilibrium following a complaint and investigation
