The increased use of social media and the instant access to information online is blurring the line between an individual’s private life and his or her connection to the workplace. Recent events have put a spotlight on how an employee’s off-duty conduct can result in just cause for discipline if the actions adversely affect an employer’s interests.

This free one-hour webinar for Saskatchewan health-care managers and human resource professionals will examine when off-duty conduct constitutes just cause for discipline and discusses what an appropriate level of discipline might be in the circumstances. We will provide a broad overview of some common situations employers may face. We will also discuss the proactive steps employers can take, such as having policies in place that address an employee’s use of social media.
